Beginning in Amboseli with its iconic Kilimanjaro backdrop and legendary elephant herds, you move through Tsavo's vast red-earth wilderness (East and West), where wildlife moves in staggering numbers across a landscape that stretches to the horizon. Tsavo West's Mzima Springs offers the extraordinary spectacle of hippos and giant catfish viewed from an underwater observatory. Lake Nakuru's compact, wildlife-rich interior delivers rhinos, lion and flamingos in quick succession. Lake Naivasha's morning boat ride is a highlight for ornithologists and generalists alike. The most complete Kenya safari begins in the south — Amboseli's iconic elephant-and-mountain tableaux setting the benchmark for everything that follows. Afternoon game drive in the swamp area.
Full Day Amboseli
Complete day exploring all areas of the park. Observation Hill sunrise, elephant family encounters, cheetah on the open plain.
Amboseli to Tsavo East
Drive northeast into Tsavo East's vast red wilderness. Mudanda Rock and the Galana River game drive introduces the park's enormous elephant herds and red-dusted wildlife.
Tsavo West — Mzima Springs & Volcanic Landscape
Cross into Tsavo West for Mzima Springs' underwater hippo observation, Shetani lava fields and Ngulia rhino sanctuary.
Tsavo West to Lake Nakuru
Drive north through the Chyulu Hills foothills to Lake Nakuru. Afternoon flamingo and rhino game drive.
Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha
Morning Nakuru drive then south to Naivasha for the afternoon boat safari among hippos and waterbirds.
Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara
Morning walk on Crescent Island then drive west to the Mara arriving for afternoon game drive.
Full Day Masai Mara
