Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport to Entebbe

Arrival and Pickup Breakfast

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport where you will be warmly received by your safari guide through VIP meet and greet service. After a short briefing, transfer to your accommodation located near the serene shores of Lake Victoria.

This is a relaxed arrival day designed to help you settle in, recover from your journey, and begin absorbing the calm tropical atmosphere of Uganda. Depending on arrival time, you may enjoy a lakeside walk or simply unwind in the lush gardens of your hotel as you prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Entebbe to Kibale Forest National Park

Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

After breakfast, depart for Kibale Forest National Park, one of Africa’s most diverse rainforest ecosystems. The journey is scenic and enriching, passing through rolling hills, crater lakes, tea plantations, and rural countryside that reflects authentic Ugandan life.

Upon arrival and lunch, proceed for an afternoon guided nature walk at Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. This community managed sanctuary offers an incredible introduction to Uganda’s biodiversity, with sightings of colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, hornbills, kingfishers, and butterflies in a rich swamp ecosystem. It is also a meaningful cultural encounter as local guides share conservation and community stories.

Later, check in at your forest lodge surrounded by nature where you will enjoy fresh air, forest sounds, and a peaceful evening atmosphere.

Day 3: Kibale Forest to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Early morning begins with a briefing before entering Kibale Forest for chimpanzee trekking. Accompanied by experienced ranger guides, you will track chimpanzees through dense rainforest trails, listening to their calls echoing through the canopy. Once located, spend time observing their fascinating behavior including feeding, grooming, and social interactions in their natural habitat.

After this unforgettable primate encounter, continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive is extremely scenic with views of crater lakes, volcanic formations, and the distant Rwenzori Mountains on clear days.

Arrive in the afternoon and relax at your lodge overlooking the savannah as wildlife begins to emerge at sunset.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Begin the day with an early morning game drive across the Kasenyi plains where wildlife activity is at its peak. Expect sightings of lions, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and hyenas moving across open savannah landscapes. The golden sunrise provides excellent photography opportunities and dramatic wildlife scenes.

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, one of the richest wildlife waterways in Africa. This experience brings you incredibly close to hippos, crocodiles, elephants bathing at the shore, and large flocks of aquatic birds including pelicans and kingfishers.

Return to your lodge for a relaxed evening surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha Sector

After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, driving through the famous Ishasha sector known for its rare tree climbing lions resting in fig trees. This is one of the most iconic wildlife experiences in Uganda and a highlight of the journey.

Continue through changing landscapes from savannah plains to mist covered highlands as you approach Bwindi Forest. The scenery becomes more dramatic, cooler, and greener, signaling your arrival into gorilla territory.

Arrive at your lodge nestled in the forest for dinner and relaxation in preparation for the next day’s main highlight.

Day 6: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today is the most anticipated experience of the safari. After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing on gorilla trekking guidelines.

You will then enter the dense rainforest with expert trackers in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek may take a few hours depending on their movement, passing through thick vegetation, bamboo zones, and steep terrain.

Once located, spend a magical hour observing the gorillas at close range. Watch them feed, play, groom, and interact within their family structure. The experience is emotional, powerful, and deeply memorable as you connect with one of humanity’s closest relatives in the wild.

Day 7: Bwindi to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, depart for Lake Mburo National Park, passing through rolling hills, farmlands, and pastoral landscapes that showcase rural Uganda.

Arrive in time for an afternoon game drive in this compact but wildlife rich park. Expect sightings of zebras, giraffes, elands, impalas, topis, and hippos around the lakes. The park offers a more relaxed and intimate safari experience with fewer crowds.

As the sun sets, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the African wilderness.

Day 8: Lake Mburo to Entebbe via Uganda Equator Crossing

Departure Breakfast

Start the day with a guided walking safari, offering a rare opportunity to explore the park on foot. Accompanied by an armed ranger, you will learn about animal tracks, plant life, and smaller details of the ecosystem often missed on game drives.

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Entebbe with a stop at the Equator line for photos, souvenir shopping, and a brief geographical experience of standing in both hemispheres.

Proceed to Entebbe for airport drop off, marking the end of your unforgettable Ugandan safari.
