Nairobi to Masai Mara — Arrival & Afternoon Drive

Your luxury tented camp sits either inside the Masai Mara National Reserve or in one of the adjoining private conservancies — areas of Maasai-owned land where wildlife roams freely and visitor numbers are strictly controlled. After a welcome lunch, your resident guide leads an afternoon drive to orient you to the landscape: where the big cats have been seen this week, which lion pride recently had cubs, and where the wildebeest crossing points are most active. Sundowners are served from the roof of the vehicle overlooking a golden plain shimmering with game.
Full Day Masai Mara — Big Five & Great Migration
The most famous drive in Africa begins before sunrise with hot coffee and a buttered rusk. Your guide — a resident expert with years of Mara experience — positions the vehicle to watch lion cubs play in the early light, while a female cheetah moves through the tall grass with three sub-adult cubs in tow.
